Slow Dakota’s fourth LP, “Tornado Mass for Voice & Synthesizer” arrived in the Spring of 2020, via Massif Records. The album weaves between electronic, orchestral, indie pop, and spoken word soundscape to tell the story of a remote Midwestern town rebuilding itself in the wake of a terrible tornado strike. A witch living in a windmill, chickens laying black eggs, and a countryside burying its dead - a new chapter in Slow Dakota’s blending of magical realism, rural folklore, and biblical myth.

“Tornado Mass” features frequent Slow Dakota collaborators - Sahil Ansari mixing and producing, Greg Calbi mastering, and Sarah Sauerteig singing - with the addition of Reid Jenkins on violin, Eli Aleinikoff on baritone sax, and Katie Pratt Jamie Belushi Dan Obergfell and C Ray Harvey singing. Recorded between Fort Wayne, Indiana and Brooklyn, New York.
